TREATING YOURSELF TO A SCALP MASSAGE
As well as being relaxing, the kind of scalp massage you're treated to at the salon has real benefits for your scalp, too. Our treatment expert Sylvie teaches you how to give yourself a massage in the comfort of your own home.
The right technique
Rest your elbows on the table, let your head fall forward and place your hands on either side of your scalp, fingers spread. This position helps blood flow to the scalp and improves circulation. Massage your scalp with your fingertips and move the skin around in small circles. Move from the nape of your neck up to the top of your head. Repeat two to three times a week for five minutes before washing your hair.
The benefits of head massages
As well as feeling fantastic, a head massage leaves the skin on your scalp suppler than ever and boosts blood flow, making it easier for your blood to transport all the nutrients responsible for healthy-looking hair to your hair follicles. The result? Revitalized, strong and shiny hair.
Detox massage
Add a few drops of Régénérescence naturelle to heighten the benefits of your massage. This oil is the ultimate secret weapon for a healthy scalp, and contains Chilean rose to dilate blood vessels, detoxifying red thyme and rebalancing borage oil. It sloughs away dead skin cells, pollution deposits and styling product residue while revitalizing the scalp. Massage in gently for five minutes without scrubbing the scalp to avoid stimulating sebum production.
Anti-hair loss massage
If you're experiencing hair loss, we recommend a scalp massage every day. On days you plan on washing your hair, add a few drops of Régénérescence naturelle for an anti-aging effect. Alongside this, reach for the Complexe Énergisant for two to three months, using one vial three times a week after washing. This complex is packed full of amino acids and multi-active ingredient plant extracts to boost hair growth.
Massages on the go
You can massage your scalp while washing. To do so, pour a pea-sized amount of shampoo on the top of your head and work into a lather with a little water. Massage your scalp, applying a little pressure with your fingertips. Keep massaging in until hair is perfectly rinsed. This technique triggers the effects of your shampoo's active ingredients and relaxes your nerve endings. Total bliss guaranteed!
