YOUR STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO TAMING AND GIVING BOUNCE TO CURLY HAIR
Getting beautiful, bouncy curls can sometimes be a bit of a chore. Here are our quick and easy tips to getting them tamed.
Always use a wide-toothed comb
Banish hairbrushes that create frizz and fluff. A wide-toothed comb or just your fingers can add a little structure and volume. Always untangle hair with L'Huile de Leonor Greyl before washing and, if desired, before blow-drying.
Straighten or boost volume while washing
Everyone knows that curly hair tends to be dry. Choose a strengthening, conditioning shampoo like Bain restructurant à la Banane to prevent weighing curls down, or Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou to tame them. When washing hair, massage your scalp to remove excess sebum and smooth hair down from root to tip. This should be enough to remove dust and dirt without creating friction on the lengths, meaning you'll avoid tangles. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry without rubbing, before finishing off with a hair diffuser.
Glam up your curls
Use a few heated rollers throughout your hair and set with Laque souple. The rollers will create movement at the roots, which tend to lie flat under the weight of hair.
Embrace the wavy look
Apply Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase and separate hair into at least six equal-sized strands. Wind each strand in on itself before drying with a hair dryer. Pin each strand to the top of your head using a clip. Leave to cool for around fifteen minutes before removing the clips and unraveling the strands. Apply Eclat naturel styling cream to the tips to add suppleness and shine.
Demand some discipline
Leave hair to air dry or use a diffuser before applying Spray Algues et Fleurs to the length and ends or Tonique hydratant if your hair is very curly. Use a curling iron to redefine curls that tend to fall loose at the ends. If your hair is too voluminous at the roots, take two wide strands of damp hair, twist, and repeat across the head. Leave to air dry.
Curl wake-up call
Curly hair inevitably looks flat in the morning. Create movement and body by raking your fingers through your locks. You can also spritz with a little Spray Algues et Fleurs to restore volume to curls, or scrunch in a pea-sized amount of Eclat naturel if they are very dry. Leave to air dry.
